This year marks the 40th anniversary of the founding of the Congress of Russian Americans, and they are planning a conference “Russian America: yesterday, today, tomorrow” with gala banquet, both held at the Russian Center of San Francisco on Friday, July 26th. The conference will be dedicated towards the preservation of Russian language, culture, history and heritage abroad, as well as changing stereotypes and improving US-Russia relations.
We are honored that Russia’s Ambassador to the US, Honorable Sergey I.Kislyak has confirmed that he will attend, as well as our current Consul General in San Francisco, Sergey V. Petrov and Ambassador at Large to the US-Russia Presidential Bilateral Commission, Vladimir N. Vinokurov (previous SF Consul General). We will also have numerous speakers and guests, which will include historians, educators and representatives of federal, state and regional administrations of US and Russia. and other delegates.

Lunch and coffee breaks will be included in the cost of the conference and there will be a networking reception with hors d’ouevres and a No-Host bar. Honored Artist of Russia, Yvgeniy Shilin, will play classical guitar for your musical enjoyment. The gala banquet will include a sit-down served dinner with wine and a concert of harp and flute music with Lydia Derugin and Dr.Ruby Ghadiani, followed by DJ Nick Ionoff’s popular Russian, American and Latin American music for your dancing pleasure.
