Covelo, California

The town of Covelo is a census-designated area (CDP) located in Mendocino County, California. Covelo is found 14 miles east-northeast of Laytonville, at a height of 1398 feet. Covelo was established in 1860, with the opening of the very first store in the town. Their post office started operation in 1870. The town name was coined after a Swiss village.
